Upper Intake Manifold
Owners of 2.3 Turbo Fords many times find themselves looking for a way
to bolt up bigger throttle bodies. Unfortunately there were no
aftermarket options, until now. Custom Performance Engineering
has designed a custom upper intake manifold that allows you to bolt the
60mm Thunderbird throttle body up without major modifications. Both flanges are CNC machined out of billet 6061 aluminum and readily
bolt up to the 60mm throttle body and existing lower intake manifold. The
tubing is also 6061 aluminum and mandrel bent to Custom Performance Engineering’s
specs. The whole assembly is TIG welded and then sent off to the
powder coater. Each manifold is powder coated silver to match the
existing underhood color scheme.
Custom Performance Engineering also offers rotated upper intake manifolds. In
the interest of horsepower it is often times beneficial to add intercoolers
to the existing 2.3 Turbo Ford. The problem when adding an intercooler
to a car with a stock upper intake manifold is that often times all the
piping associated becomes a cluttered eye sore. Custom Performance
Engineering’s rotated upper intake manifold will minimize the amount
of tubing visible under hood and neaten up your engine bay.
