Nissan Altima MAFci™ System
The stock Nissan Altima is a very exciting car to drive. One of the biggest limitations is the factory air intake system. The factory system suffers from very restricted and contorted plumbing. This is because the Nissan engineering team had objectives other than attaining maximum engine horsepower, they were to develop an intake system that met with strict noise restrictions.
Knowing this, Custom Performance Engineering set out to develop the most potent intake system possible for the 3.5 Altima. After researching all of the available intake systems, and countless hours on the flow-bench and dynamometer, cp-e™'s engineering team designed a very different and potent intake system. Using electronics as well as a far superior plumbing system, cp-e™'s design team was able to produce a much larger, much better flowing intake system.
How much bigger? At 3.5 inches our intake system is almost ¾ of an inch bigger than stock. Restrictive and ugly factory accordion-style hose-couplings and resonators were replaced with smooth drawn-aluminum mandrel-bent tubing. All pieces of this intake are built with CNC machinery to ensure precision, and each part is hand inspected to ensure the quality that cp-e™ is known for.
In addition to the functional and elegant mechanical design of the cp-e™ Altima intake system, Each intake system comes with cp-e™ MAF Customizer™ fuel management ECU. This unit comes pre-programmed for your Altima, extracting the most horsepower possible for your car. If you desire the ability to alter the fuel maps yourself, you may upgrade to the programmable version of this kit.
So, what is the bottom line? Please click on the links for horsepower and torque graphs, and study them for your self. Gains of 20+ Hp at the wheels and 15+ FtLbs of torque over stock were achieved with this kit. Please note the broad increase of horsepower over the entire RPM spectrum, not just a "peek spike" at red line. These large gains across the RPM spectrum are real increases that you can feel. These are type gains that get you down the track faster. After much blood, sweat, and tears, we at cp-e™ feel that we have developed the best intake possible for the Altima, and we think that you will agree.
